Peaches: I just refuse to accept blame for something I did not do, was never a part of, was never responsible for, while no credit is given for the good that was done, and NO blame is given to those races, including blacks, Arabs etc., who shared responsibility. Peaches: Actually, our nation did NOT start with using slaves. It was a terrible thing practiced by ALL cultures INCLUDING blacks and Native Americans long before we even we existed as a country. It was due to AMERICANS that slaves were freed. Just for the record, over 3000 blacks OWNED BLACK slaves in the antebellum south. Sacajewa was an Indian slave sold as a child to Indians by Indians. "Slavery existed for thousands of years before the Atlantic slave trade was born, and in all societies. But in the thousand years of its existence, there never was an anti slavery movement until white Christians, Englishmen and Americans created one. If not for the anti slavery att.itudes and military power of white Englishmen and Americans, the slave trade would not have been brought to an end."
